Temporary Traffic Calming Measures and Public Meeting – Applewood Acres – November 13th – Meeting Link Added

The City is undertaking a speed study on Blossom Drive to understand the impacts of removing the stop signs at the corner of Mountbatten and Blossom. Previous speed studies on Blossom Drive have not met the threshold for the permanent Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Program, and last year we undertook a consultation on temporary traffic measures to see what residents would like to see in the neighbourhood. At that time, we received a request for speed bumps on Blossom Drive. Traffic Services has now completed the design of the speed humps and you can find them here. It is important to note that if the community chooses to go ahead with speed bumps on Blossom Drive, City staff will prepare a petition for neighbours in the impacted area that will require 66% support for these measures.

Traffic Staff have also scheduled an origin and destination study within Applewood Acres to assess the impact of cut through traffic, and to determine if further temporary traffic calming measures should be implemented within Applewood Acres.

We will have an online meeting to discuss the outcome of both studies and Temporary Traffic Calming measures on Wednesday, November 13th at 6:30 pm on Microsoft Teams. The meeting link can be found below:
